SYNOPSIS ET DÉTAILS:
Nouadhibou est une petite ville de pêcheurs arrimée à une presqu'île de la côte mauritienne. C'est là qu'Abadallah, un jeune Malien de dix-sept ans, doit retrouver sa mère, en attendant son départ vers l'Europe. Dans ce lieu frontière, Abdallah est un peu perdu et essaie de déchiffrer l'univers qui l'entoure. Il y a Nana, une sensuelle jeune femme qui cherche à le séduire; Makan, qui, comme lui, rêve de l'Europe; et Maata, ancien pêcheur reconverti en électricien, et son disciple Khatra, un jeune apprenti. C'est cet enfant espiègle qui enseigne à Abdallah la langue locale pour qu'il puisse rompre son isolement. Grand prix Fespaco 2003
